  4. LOW RF OUTPUT : The PA transistors on his rig seem to be very
  5. reliable. The fault is usually the driver transistors (2SC1945)
  6. which are located on the board on the right when the top is
  7. removed.
  8.  
  9. NO TX : Check R108 (2R2) in series with the TX 9v switching
  10. transistor.
  11.  
  12. NO TX AND NO RX : Check R115 (2R2) in series with the 9 volt
  13. regulator transistor.
  14.  
  15. LOW SENSITIVITY : If this is worse when the attenuator is
  16. switched out, then check Q1 and Q2 (2SK125) the RF amp
  17. transistors.
  18.  
  19. RX SENSITIVITY DROPS WHEN BAND CHANGED : Check for dirty
  20. contacts on the solenoid operated band switch.
  21.  
  22. GENERAL COVERAGE TX MODIFICATION : Locate plug P2 (which plugs
  23. into J10) at the back of the main unit. The light blue wire
  24. going to this plug is the MUTE wire - cut and insulate it.

  26. TRANSVERTOR CONNECTION : On some units it may be neccessary to
  27. change an internal plug to get the required signal out of the
  28. transvertor socket - refer to pages 22 + 23 of the manual.
